Professional Development Event October 13, 2017

Breakfast session for CS-IFT members and community to highlight some of the great food science work that is happening right in our own backyard. The Schurz high school food science lab is something we know our CS-IFT community will want to know more about so we’re providing a first hand experience – hear from the principle, teacher, and students themselves and get a tour of the facility. The students at Schurz High School are not only learning about new ways to farm (urban farming, hydroponics, etc)  and feed their community, they are also collaborating with MIT media lab (open source global data project), SpaceX, and NASA to collect data that will help provide future fresh foods in space.
